Description: This class is recommended for young actors who have had an opportunity to utilize their natural talent and learned skills in an on set environment. Young actors will further strengthen their on camera technique by introducing a deeper aspect of text analysis, allowing them to approach large principal and leading roles with confidence. Specific choices will be explored and applied to assigned material through the understanding and application of objectives/goals, motivations and the need for subsequent tactics. This class features both on camera audition technique and scene study.

The actor's craft will be truly put to the test by pushing the parameters of individual comfort zones through the exploration of material and techniques intended to diversify their playable character range.

Class Description: This is a 12-week program for advanced level actors featuring: VOICE TECHNIQUE, COMEDY ON CAMERA, TEXT + IMPROVISATION, SCENE STUDY + TEXT ANALYSIS, as well as ON CAMERA AUDITION TECHNIQUE.
DISCIPLINE NOTES:
VOICE: For actors who have completed Level 1 with Joy Juckes, this course will explore aspects of appropriate "camera resonance", effective vocal production and emotional connection through voice. Learn how to get the text into the body and how to prepare the voice. These successful techniques are all aimed at providing the actor with simple tools to achieve a relaxed, natural and grounded presence.
IMPROVISATION: Improvisation is an essential tool for all actors. It is the act of survival within the confines of environment, relationship and conflict. This class will break apart the foundations of improvisation se you can see all of the elements. We will be teaching listening, status, formulating story-lines, character development, as well as all of the basics needed to make you a well rounded actor/survivor. This is an intensive introduction and review of all of the wonderful elements of improvisation. You will see how understanding and using the foundations can make your work with text so much easier.

Class Description: This is a 12-week program for advanced level actors featuring: VOICE TECHNIQUE, COMEDY ON CAMERA, TEXT + IMPROVISATION, SCENE STUDY + TEXT ANALYSIS, as well as ON CAMERA AUDITION TECHNIQUE.
DISCIPLINE NOTES:
VOICE: Armed with the basics of Joy's "Intention-Driven Resonance" techniques, actors will explore aspects of character and voice: age, status and relationship. Attention will be given to General American dialect (aka Standard North American) and techniques for learning dialects and accents. Actors will come away from this course with a personalized, accomplishable approach that will allow them to say "This is what confidence and competence sound like".
IMPROVISATION: In this workshop Bruce will show you how to apply improvisation to the written word and demonstrate methods used in improv to deconstruct the material. Using, Where, Who and What or Environment, Character and Conflict, actors will become more skilled at understanding teleplays, screenplays and even commercial material; showing you things that you never even considered when looking at the printed word. This class will go in to much more detail involving Status, Listening, endowing emotions, constructing ideas, storytelling and heightening awareness.

DISCIPLINE NOTES:
VOICE: Armed with the basics of Joy's "intention-Driven Resonance" techniques, actors will explore range of character--age, status, relationship and "hit"--and emotional connection through voice. Actors come away from this course with their own process for preparing the voice, combating fear and nervousness, and allowing their unique qualities of character to ring true.
IMPROVISATION: In this workshop Bruce will show you how to apply improvisation to the written word and demonstrate methods used in improv to deconstruct the material. Using, Where, Who and What or Environment, Character and Conflict, actors will become more skilled at understanding teleplays, screenplays and even commercial material; showing you things that you never even considered when looking at the printed word. This class will go in to much more detail involving Status, Listening, endowing emotions, constructing ideas, storytelling and heightening awareness.

VOICE: For actors who have completed Level 1 with Joy Juckes, this course will delve further into aspects of "camera resonance", character and emotional connection. Attention will be given to memorization techniques and methodical approach to learning accents, with focus on General American dialect (aka Standard North American). These proven techniques are aimed at providing the actor with simple tools to achieve a relaxed, natural and grounded presence.
IMPROVISATION: Improvisation is an essential tool for all actors. It is the act of survival within the confines of environment, relationship and conflict. This class will break apart foundations of improvisation so you can see all the elements, we will be teaching listening, status, formulating story-lines, character development, as well as all the basics needed to make you a well rounded actor/survivor. This is an intensive introduction and review of all of the wonderful elements of improvisation. You will see how understanding and using the foundations can make your work with text so much easier.

Class Description: This class has been designed specifically for advancing graduates of The Actors Workout and actors currently working in the film and television industry. Specific focus is placed on isolating and harnessing individual strengths through assigned scene study and audition material opening up new doors of character exploration and screen craft. The primary goal of this class is to enhance the actors' flexibility by challenging them with ideas, exercises and materials not typically within their scope of play.
Actor must have: Agent representation, headshot and resume, previous theoretical and/or practical experience.
*This class features a visit from one of Canada's top casting directors at the end of the six-week audition component.

Requirements: Advanced Level: Significant Film + TV credits, advancing and/or reengage grade at LEVEL 2/3. Headshot and resume. Representation. Admission at the discretion of the School Director.
All classes are on camera. A DVD will be provided on DAY 1 to all actors for in class performance documentation and take home review. Instructor and guest artist notes are documented on DVD for continued outside learning and development. Only professional episodic and feature film scripts are used. This class does not feature a 13th class live studio taping and adjudication, nor mid-term or final evaluation reports.

VOICE: Armed with the basics of Joy's "intention-Driven Resonance" techniques, actors will explore range of character--age, status, relationship and "hit"--and emotional connection through voice. Actors come away from this course with their own process for preparing the voice, combating fear and nervousness, and allowing their unique qualities of character to ring true.

VOICE: For actors who have completed Level 1 with Joy Juckes, this course will delve further into aspects of "camera resonance", character and emotional connection. Attention will be given to memorization techniques and methodical approach to learning accents, with focus on General American dialect (aka Standard North American). These proven techniques are aimed at providing the actor with simple tools to achieve a relaxed, natural and grounded presence.
IMPROVISATION: Improvisation is an essential tool for all actors. It is the act of survival within the confines of environment, relationship and conflict. This class will break apart foundations of improvisation so you can see all the elements, we will be teaching listening, status, formulating story-lines, character development, as well as all the basics needed to make you a well rounded actor/survivor. This is an intensive introduction and review of all of the wonderful elements of improvisation. You will see how understanding and using the foundations can make your work with text so much easier.
