You have the right to the safety and security of your person in an environment free from harassment, intimidation, discrimination or assault. You have the responsibility to treat others with respect and to refrain from acts of harassment, intimidation, discrimination or assault.

Class Expectations

1 .The Armstrong Acting Studios operate by engaging audition material (or sides) from day one:

Audition material required for these classes will be sent out by email, 24 - 48 hours prior to the start date and actors should be prepared to be off book - (know your lines) by the first class. This timeline has been specifically designed to replicate the audition process as well as to provide instructors with a clear idea as to where exactly actors are at in their preparation and execution of their auditions. If you have not received your material 24 hours prior to the first class, please notify the studio immediately at 416.483.0056. Once classes have started, if you have not received you material from your instructor 24 hours before your next class, please email your instructor to inquire if new material has been sent or will be required for the next class.

2. A DVD+RW is included in the term tuition and should be brought to each class.  The disc will serve as the actor's workbook and as an integral component to individual growth and development. Additional DVDs may be purchased at the studio at a cost of $10.00 per disc if not brought to the next class.

3. Although classes at the studio are primarily practical in nature, instructors at the Armstrong Studios cover a wealth of information and actors should come prepared to class with a notebook and ready to take notes.

4. No food or drink is allowed in the studio, although students are welcome to bring with them bottled water.

5. Armstrong Acting Studios' courses have been carefully designed to optimize student learning through theory and practice.  It is important that you attend each and every class within the 6-week program to receive maximum benefit.

Actors who must miss a class during a holiday will not be penalized.  However, they are required to inform their instructors ahead of time so that adjustments can be made to class assignments in response to their planned absence.

6. Cell phones, iPods, voice recorder and other personal electronic devised are NOT allowed to be used in all AAS classes.  Please respect other students and turn off all devises before beginning of class.

7.  All students are required to have an advanced comprehension (reading and speaking) of the English language to participate in classes.

8.  Please inform the office if you have a serious medical condition or are taking any medications that may need to be administered.

9.  Please note AAS classes will run over all statutory holidays i.e. March Break, Thanksgiving, and Family Day etc.  There are no make-ups or refunds for missed classes.

10. For the purpose of class efficiency, only AAS DVDs are permitted for class documentation.   The use of outside DVDs is prohibited.  If a student has lost or damaged their class disc, a replacement must be purchased for $10.

11.  Please note all materials documented on Class Masters are exclusively for in- class review by the instructor or the School Director.  Materials cannot be sent to students from the Class Master.  Students are required to bring their DVD to class each week for documentation.

12.  All students are subject to revaluation of class placement at any time during the term if the are not demonstrating adequate capabilities for the level.  In such cases, students can be moved to an appropriate level at the direction of School Director.
