
MARCIA BENNETT is a well respected and highly experienced audition coach and teacher of film acting technique. She holds a BA in Drama from the University of Evansville, IN and an MA in Theatre from the University of Missouri. A professional actress for 39 years, Marcia is a member of ACTRA, SAG, CAEA and AEA. Recent television and film projects include guest roles on Breakout Kings for the A & E Network, Warehouse 13, SyFy Channel, and THE WOMAN, directed by Lucky McKee which premiered at Sundance Festival this past January. Marcia played the recurring role of Rose Perkins on HAPPY TOWN, as well as May Silverstone in season one of the award winning SLINGS AND ARROWS. She has appeared on MURDOCH MYSTERIES (Love and Human Remains), and played Mrs. Claus in Hallmark's THE NIGHT BEFORE THE NIGHT BEFORE CHRISTMAS. Other credits include FUGITIVE PIECES (director, Jeremy Podeswa), STILL SMALL VOICES (Mario Azzopardi), THE STONE ANGEL (Kari Skogland), ABOVE AND BEYOND (Sturla Gunnarsson), MASTERS OF HORROR, "Sick Girl" episode (Lucky McKee), THE WOODS (Lucky McKee), PLAGUE CITY (David Wu), THE WOOL CAP (Steven Schachter). On stage, she has worked in theatres across Canada and was nominated for a Dora Award as Best Actress for her role as "Julia" in MADRE (Aluna Theatre Company) at Theatre Passe Muraille in Toronto. She has helped actors prepare for film and television auditions for 15 years, and been an instructor with Armstrong Acting Studios for 8 years. She has also taught scene study at Centre for the Arts. Marcia has served as on-set coach for films MY LOUISIANA SKY, RED SNEAKERS, SNOW and KIT KITTREDGE: AN AMERICAN GIRL, in addition to television series RADIO FREE ROSCOE, BLAKE HOLSEY HIGH, and THE ZACK FILES.
